I've started using Primal Defense and I was wondering if anyone else has used it and how did it go for you?

Hi Corrine,
I was wondering if the primal defense was working for you.
You mention last time that it slowed down the d. I've really been considering trying this, I'm pretty stable now,
trying the acacia supplement for the first time today. I work with public and see about 500 customers a day. I want to protect my body against any unwanted flu's or colds this season. Hope your doing well. Thanks Sherri

So far it seems like it's working great. It takes time to build up to the recommended dosage but I've been there for almost a month now and have been pretty stable. I still hit the bathroom more often than most people but it's not D. My BM's are much more normal and there is no where near as much discomfort. I wouldn't say I'm all better as I still have a bad day here and there but I'm certainly much better than I was. It's been recommended to me that I remain at the high dosage for 6 months and then come back to the maintenance dosage. So five more months to go. I'm also following Heather's diet but sneaking in beef about once a week. That's going great so far as beef has been very tough for me to give up. I also drink goat's milk and that's been great too!

Hi Corrine!
I actually heard about this about 1 month ago and ordered these pills. They've been sitting in my house because I am kind of leary about taking them. Do you know if they are ok to take with birth control pills? This is my only concern since that is the only thing that I take besides a vitamin. I am constantly constipated and have read that this may cure/help extreme cases of IBS. I also have high cholesterol, which this says helps that as well... Any words of advice would be GREATLY appreciated!
Thanks!
Michele

I take Primal Defense with my BC pills...not a prob! Just make sure to take on an empty stomach.

Probiotics are PERFECT SAFE...and they're VERY HEALTHY! I have only heard good things about Primal Defense and all of Garden of Life Products!

Feel good, let us know how you do!

*hugs*

Hi all!

I've been at the high dosage for four months now and have noticed a great improvement. I can confidently track any bad day to it's source such as lack of sleep or some food I probably shouldn't have eaten! (or so much of that food). I still have some bad days but I also have two more months to go and a sick kid. I pray that he will soon be healed but I believe the Lord is still working on me! It is expensive but it's worth it. I've had so much more freedom since I've started this treatment.

It's a probiotic that helps to replace the naturally occuring flora in the gut. Here's a link.

Do you still take this Ruchie? Does anyone think it is worth the money? I've heard wonderful things about it from the HFS employees...but I've also heard of it referred to as "the garden of Lies" instead of "the garden of Life"!

Anyone currently finding success with this probiotic for IBS-C?

I have heard tons of folks have success with Dr. Ruben's products. I have to be honest...I did not...but I was on antibiotics at the time and my whole syste/body needed a SERIOUS makeover! I had to get off sugar, dairy, and gluten to get results from anything all the way. So I am not a good judge of his products. I also didn't take them properly as I was a mess (in more ways than one) when I took them. I THINK I recall they helped with my IBS C to normalcy...but this was a couple of years ago...

Sorry for rambling! Bottom line: I just don't know I'm sorry Beth *hugs*

When I did a search on them, your name came up a lot as the "poster". It sounded like you had had success with them.

Jarrodophilus EPS is much less expensive and works great. Have a cousin using it and no noticable difference.

primal defense definately worked for me. when i had taken antibiotics for an ear infection i was left with a bacterial infection in my intestines and stomach. i lost 15 lbs and could not tolerate anything. after months of trying everything i came across primal, thankfully. i started out low then increased to the therapeutic dose of 12 per day for months. my condition improved noticably and i know it was from the primal. i continue to take it daily. it is expensive but it has and still continues to help me.

But I'd probably pay it if it worked. I've blown so much money already. But like I said, one HFS says it the best thing for IBS, another referred to it as the Garden of Lies. Another said all their IBS customers swear by it...another told me that Jordan Rubin is getting sued, that it isn't even his before picture on his Patient heal thyself book, and the store will no longer carry his products.

Did you mean your sister IS taking this and isn't noticing any difference? Does she have IBS too? C or D?

Like I said, perhaps with the C? I had so much wrong with my poor bod back then And I was STILL on antibiotics! i would have to try em' again to know for sure.

What are you wanting to use them for? If you haven't tried probiotics...maybe go with a cheaper brand to start? I hear PB or something with a P and a B in it is good. If you HAVE tried probiotics and didn't have success, personally, I wouldn't spend the money. Just my 2 C's! *hugs* Beth!

Do you take a probiotic ruchie?

By the C i meant constipation!

how much is Primal Defense aagin?

Do you have a juicer Beth? This has helped me more than anythig...and eating LOTS of babyfood. I have mostly regular BM';s now (unless Ig et hidden gluten!)

Aplle cranberry juice, celery carrot juice, beet juice (when I can afford em!)oooooh! How yummy! I would try that before a probiotic. But of course...we are all so different. I don't take them. BUT I think I have a yeast infection so I may very well begin taking one soon IF you can afford Prinmal Defense...what do you have to lose/ But you and I BOTH don't have much in finances! have you a juicer? If you do...use it! If not...how much is the cheapest? I think Elizabeth was considering one...you might want to post her for the best deal on them. Also...can you eat soy? If you CAN I would get soy yogurt with acidopholus and eat it up as much as you can a day. It is LIVE cultures...the best you can do imo (I can't do soy...but if I could I'd be eating that stuff 3 times a day to get my acidophilus in!)

Sorry if I'm not much help

Love ya,
Ruch

i had major d with mucous and cramping. the PD helped to solidify and restore my good bacteria. i have done many searches on the web and in books and found more good news about PD then bad. i guess it all depends on your symptoms though.

about 40 to 45 dollars for a bottle of 90 and you take 3 a day.

I don't have a juicer, but could get one for the price of one bottle of Primal Defense.

You would have to send me some recipe ideas!

Nope, no soy for me either, Ruchie! I avoid it totally. Too bad, huh! No yummy soy yogurts or all Heather's heavenly soy recipes!

when I said what did you mean by the C...I wasn't sure if yu were saying it helped your C or if you were asking me if I wanted it for my C! Believe me, I've been around long enough to know all to well what C stands for...it's my middle initial by now!

Thanks, Ruchie

Ooops! I mean I think it helped my C when I took it but I'm not sure cause it was ages ago

If yo get a juicer I think it comes with recipes. If not I def. have some...AND I know a few juices that are particularly good for certain health issues.

I find ALL juices help my C!!!

Let me know what you decide...and please do a search on juicing to get other's opinions...or make a new post...I don't want to steer you wrong! *hugs*
