Fiber just makes it stringier, water makes it softer, but NOTHING makes it come out!!

I think I'm going to go to the doctor to have them xray my tummy to see if I'm really full of poop, which I know I am.

Anyone have any ideas?

Hi Elizabeth, There's a significant difference between being
constipated and not being able to poop. Constipated people
can go when the time comes, whereas people with actual pooping
problems cannot. Thin stools is a sign of pelvic floor problem
s. You should probably have an "Anorectal Manometry" test done
and if that is inconclusive, then an "MRI Defacography" test
to follow. -Bob

You may want to ask your doc about Miralax. I know it helps a lot of people here "go"!

I've been having some similar issues lately. Question for you - are you feeling the urge to have a BM? Or are the urges not there? I haven't had a BM in 4 days and I haven't even had the urge. And my few previous BMs were like you describe, either stringy or soft or both. I'm not sure where to go from here...

Good suggestions Bob, and a sitz marker test maybe.

There is also the problem of "the sensation of incomplete evacuation" in IBS and of course alternators.

This is a good C website.

also like Bob mentioned to be tested for

"Outlet obstruction type constipation (pelvic floor dyssynergia)
The external anal sphincter, which is part of the pelvic floor normally stays tightly closed to prevent leakage. When you try to have a bowel movement, however, this sphincter has to open to allow the fecal material to come out. Some people have trouble relaxing the sphincter muscle when they are straining to have a bowel movement, or they may actually squeeze the sphincter more tightly shut when straining. This produces symptoms of constipation. "

He did an x-ray of my tummy. My WHOLE stomach is filled up with poop. He said there's a good 5-10 POUNDS of poop in there.

NO WONDER I'M BLOATED!!

He put me on a clear liquids only diet for 5 days so that more food doesn't get added to my tummy. During that time, I'm supposed to do 3 enemas, take 2 peri-colaces every day take 2 doses of milk of magnesia, 8 hours apart.

No food for 5 days is going to suck, but he says this will make the bloating go away - yay!

OMG Elizabeth!! That's horrible! How long has it been since you last went? That's a whole lot of $%^&.

Anyway, I'm glad your doc is going to get you cleaned out. I'm sure you'll feel soooo much better.
