I think those might be insoluble fiber, so be careful & eat only after soluble fiber!

I won't even eat them with SF, though. I don't trust dried fruit. High in fructose, which is difficult on the tummy. But maybe it wouldn't bother you.

I think raisins, like prunes, naturally contain a high amount of sorbitol. So in addition to the high IF content, the sorbitol could be another potential trigger.

I eat a small smount of carob covered raisins as a snack and they don't bother me. As a matter of fact, I'm a C and sometimes they help move things along. It all depends on what your body can tolerate.

IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages:
"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!

I call grapes and raisins "evil fiber bombs." They're death to my gut and I just run away from them.

More C people eat them, I think. None for me, thx.

I wouldn't consider them to be a safe food, but that doesn't mean you can't have any. I eat them in my oatmeal and it's ok, or if I eat a raisen bagel it's fine, but if I eat any more then that in a day I'll have tummy probs. I always buy the single boxes of them rather then a big container, I've gotten attacks accidently from eating too many out of the container so the boxes help me to keep the portions of them smaller. Also, eating them alone can cause me problems.
