I'm sure this has been posted before, but I hadn't seen anything that was completely relevent...
Increasing soluble fiber and IF, as well as miralax and magnesium, have just made my stools softer and stringier. Not what I'm looking for.
I've been constantly bloated for the last 3 months. Not one day has gone by where my stomach has gone down at all. In fact, it is getting increasingly bloated as the days go by which leads me to believe I am, quite literally, full of sh*t.
I tried a saline enema this afternoon and my stomach went down a bit for the first time in 3 months. I was wondering how often they are safe to do? Because I think once I get rid of everything that has built up, I'll be able to go back to my method of fiber & magnesium.
Any thoughts? Thanks

i was wondering the same thing. most websites say that enemas are safe to do frequently, but some say its not the best thing to do at all unless there is a real emergency. i was doing them once a week but i stopped.

No advice, Elizabeth. I just wanted to say I'm sorry to see you're still struggling - I hoped the thyroid treatment had really done the trick.
Take care.

It's going really well! We have pretty much everything done except some decorations bought, but I know what we're getting, so... pretty much done!
How are YOU?

I think the thyroid medicine has helped, but as my primary doctor told me last week: I may have hypothyroidism AND IBS.
As I said in the original post, I've been constantly 9-months-pregnant looking for the last 3 months - NO break from the bloating. At my worst last year with IBS, I was never bloated constantly. It would go down & up, and even if it was more up (i.e. bloated) than down, it still went down for a short amount of time, at least. This time, no luck.
Which brings me to believe I am really backed up.
After the enema this afternoon, I'm less bloated, but still very bloated. Good to know it worked, though.
Hope you are doing well, Sand.

Sorry to hear you are still battling this. Are you still taking your digestive advantage?
I would ask your GI about how many times it is safe to use an enema. I wonder this also.

HI Beth!
How are YOU doing?
Yes, I'm still taking the D.A., but it doesn't seem to be helping anymore. Then again, I think I'm so backed up that nothing can help...
