I just did my first colonoscopy this morning. It wasn't bad at all. Thank you everyone for your advice!
But, now what can I eat? I have been feeling really gassy all day. The Dr. said that I can eat soft, bland food. Not sure what kind of food that includes. What does everyone think is okay to eat?

I ate whatever I wanted, but as I remember, my stomach was very shrunken from the prep-fast so I filled up quickly. Just eat whatever you know is safe for you to eat. I was pretty gassy for about 4-5 days after the procedure. I've heard that is common.

For me post-colonoscopy (particularly post-colonoscopy-prep) was just like post-attack, since the prep was kind of just like a major bowel-emptying attack. So I just ate like I would post-attack - really safely and gently.
What you're doctor's telling you to eat is what doctors always tell patients who have/have had D to eat, but that's not always (or even usually) best for IBS patients. Really safe for IBS means the WTWYCEA diet (all-SF). I think I ate that for a day and a bit then started adding other foods back in. Just ate really safely and gently, basically.
HTH.

I kept it soft & simple. Soup helped to restore my sodium levels. As Retrograde said, it's a major evacuation.
