hey ashley. that's really rough. (hey, be glad it exists at all, though, right?)

the thing it, it will probably upset your ibs, because of the hormone spike. but while that sucks, it's far from a reason to not go through with it. just do everything you can otherwise to keep your ibs in check - safe foods, maybe a heating pad, and anything you can do to ease the stress you're going through. it sounds tough, with no one to talk to - know that we're here for you. good luck! {{hugs}}

This will just be a blip. If you didn't feel you had to, you wouldn't be doing this, right?

*big huggles*

Been there (I think) and it's not fun.

Hi Ashley,

I have taken Plan B in the past. It didn't upset my IBS-D, but it did make me feel like I could throw up at any second. It passed after I took the 2nd pill though. You will be just fine. We are lucky that this product is available (maybe not everyone will agree with that, but that's how I feel). Good luck to you!

hehe i like your word huggles i had to order plan B this morning for obvious reasons and just needed some comfort. i took BC awhile ago and only for 3 months and was concerned this new EBC would mess w/my bowels [theyre doing so well now!!!] at least i think they are. ive been feeling pretty good. i just hope this wont put me back at the starting line of BTC diet. i really felt a connection w/my bod and the slow increase of the psyllium starting from 1 pill and going to 5. thats always been my unlucky # but in this case it might just be golden!

ive been stuck on this road too before--ironically i gave a new poster some advice about pregnancy not very long ago. how things do turn around. thanks for the *huggles* linz--it helped alot

Yes, the medicine worked well for me. I know it's hard not to worry, but you will be fine. The success rate is pretty high I think. You may not get as sick as I did from it, I think it varies from person to person. Hope you feel better soon!

Hey Bob, "Plan B" is basically a big dose of birth-control pills (something like 2-4 times the normal dose). Women can take it up to 72 hours after dodgy sex and it will keep them from ovulating. No ovulation -> no pregnancy -> no problem!

I wouldn't stress too much, Ashley. As someone else said, it'll just be a blip. Now that you're on the path to stability, you'll recover from life's inevitable blips way faster than you did before.

So we are talking about the morning after pill? I took that awhile ago because something broke and I was absolutely fine, no sickness whatsoever from what I can remember?

Glad it helped.

This may well make you feel a bit rotten for a few days (it made me feel sick as a dog for a day pre-IBS ), but now you are more stable, it will be easier to stabilise again! Promise. Just cosset yourself and your tum for a few days, okay?

Yes, AC, I knew. I was just trying to subtlely advocate plan A
for abstainance, i.e. no doggy sex->no pregnancy-> no plan B
-> no IBS problems! Doggy sex, I just can't believe it!
Oh boy, wait until Heather sees these posts, she's probably
going to suspend us. I can't believe what I'm reading.

um... you mean dodgy, maybe? far as i know, doggy sex can be just as safe as any other.

but at this point, i think it was too late for plan a, be it abstinence or safe sex. hence the 'plan b' at all.

Jaime, Yes, I saw dodgy, which is no English word I've ever
heard of, and figured she had to be mispelling doggy. After
all the d and g keys are almost right next to each other.

Ah, plan B. Good stuff. It didn't hurt my stomach at all. Gave me a headache, though, and I found out later that it was because I had a prob with the estrogen.

Exactly. I have a number of Britishisms that I absorbed during my time as an astronomer: signing off letters with "cheers", "dodgy", "pear-shaped", and my favorite, (soy) milk and sugar in my (decaf) tea.

didn't even realize dodgy's a britishism... but pear-shaped? do you mean it otherwise than talking about a woman who's wide around the hips?

TELL me about it! I know you're stressed. It'll be ok. You're vigillant about your health and you're staying on top of it. The headache WILL go away! Get lots of sleep and take a nap in a dark room if your head hurts too bad. I asked the doc for migraine meds when I got the headache, and he gave me a sample pack with 3 pills. One of them knocked me out completely and I felt much better when I woke up.

My boyfriends got a book on cockney rhyming slang and we spent an afternoon wetting ourselves laughing at some of them, the best bit was when we went out the other night and were talking in the cockney rhyming slang we'd learnt and killing ourselves laughing and noone could understand what the hell we were talking about!!
