Hi Guys,
Just wanted to see if anyone else suffered with Hiccups and whether it was an associated side-effect of IBS.
For as long as I can remember, even prior to being diagnosed with IBS, I always had a problem with pretty loud hiccups after eating. This used to just be limited to when I had slightly fatty foods or if I had a carbonated drink, but now I am on the IBS diet I seem to get hit with a hiccup attack after most meals.
With that in mind it certainly cannot be a fat thing as I hardly have any anymore, but there is something odd going on...any ideas?
Thanks and best regards Tim

I found if I ate to quickly I would always have the hiccups or if I waited too long to eat - then I would hiccup before eating.
Now that I eat 5000 times a day and eat slower and smaller portions I have found the hiccups aren't that common anymore.
I don't know if this is linked with IBS or just a coincidence.
Take care,

My second child had terrible gas as a baby, borderline colic?? He had hiccups all the time so bad he couldn't nurse well or even fall asleep! Some "gas drops" (simethicone, the same thing found in Phazyme) would help alleviate the gas, taking care of the hiccups and the pains, to a point. Maybe the same is true for you!
