The last week, I've noticed an increase in BM's, urgency, and a rumbly stomach constantly! For those who have been pregnant, it feels like a baby is in there! (no, I'm not pregnant!) I haven't been eating bad things for my IBS, at least I didn't think they were bad, and I don't know why I've been having so many problems. Going to work is a stress thing for me, and today was by far the worst day as I did go to work. I took an immodium in the morning before I left, and it didn't help. I took 1/2 a lomotil to see if that would help. After going about 2 more times, I took the other 1/2. Finally, the running to the bathroom stopped but I still had terrible gas! Normally after I go so much, there isn't gas still in there.
I feel like I can't eat anything without me going so much. I wonder where it all comes from! It's not like I eat a lot and I'm small. I just want to the urgency to stop and I don't want to be a be walking gas bomb!
Do you think taking an anti-spasmodic would help before eating? Is my body getting immune to Immodium?
What causes so much of the rumbling? My GI doc said that's a symptom of IBS but I never had it to this degree.
Any help/advice is appreciated! Sandy

I have the same problem. Have you tried Lactobacilus GG? And the Acacia Powder?

The rumbling is gas and cramps I think. Anyway, it's pretty normal for IBS.
Are you on a SFS? Mine sorted that out for me.
Maybe you should try the hypno if stress is such a trigger?

I've been scanning the internet and ran across two diffetent products. One was Digestrol and the other was Digestrin. I haven't tried either of them but was interested after reading their ads. It may be worth a try...Has anyone else heard of or tried either of these products?

Lactobacillus is just one strain or probiotics.
Yep, you need to up your Acacia dose before it can help but do so slowly, okay?

I can't tell how long this has been going on, but is there a chance that you have a flu bug? Everyone is sick where I live either with the headcold bug or the stomach flu...not vomiting but D, cramps, gas, etc.

I thought about that...but have no other symptoms. I think though if anything is going around, it's going to hit my stomach. Back in the Summer I ended up in the ER for D that lasted over a week, and NOTHING stopped it. That wasn't IBS related but b/c my stomach is so sensitive, it will pick up on any kind of stomach thing. Sandy

This is how mine started again. Stress from work and being on the road all day long, I guess.
I was stable for over a year and all of a sudden I started getting your symptoms again and I just ignored it until one day, I couldn't even leave my house because the "running to the Bathroom never ceased"!! It's a good thing you're recognizing it and taking control of it now. You should be okay. Just don't ignore it for a month like I did!! I just knew it would go away, but it just continued to get worse!! Now, I've been unstable for 5 months! I really should have paid more attention to my body.... I probably wouldn't be in this mess!!
Eat a little safer and try to reduce your stress and you should be fine.
Cut out those carbonated beverages if you're drinking them. That's what got me, I think. I couldn't stop drinking that Sprite once I started drinking it, again.
Good Luck! Michelle
