i am one of those people that are really against taking any form of medication...but now i realize that sometimes there's just no choice unless you want to live a life of pain .. so anyways i just started taking "Buscopan" (Hyoscine Butylbromide)...i take it when i wake up in the morning just b4 i eat and wow what a huge difference it makes .... i am happy to also know that my doctor used to work with a gastro specialist ...so she is well informed about IBS ...
but anyways i just wanted to share that with everyone ...it has been a big help for me and maybe you too

I took Buscopan when I was in my teens (I've had IBS pretty much all my life), but only 3 a day and didn't find I got relief with it. Can it be taken long term indefinately?

Hi Michelle, Ah, but you can. Your doc just needs to write
the scrip, and you order online from Canada. My GI doc here
told me that. -Bob

the Canadian pharmacies will sell meds to foriegn customers
online so long as you have a script from a certified doctor.
Also, a lot of other foriegn countries will do that. -Bob

My doctor will never give me a prescription for anything that's not available in the US, anyway! He has a hard enough time giving me stuff that IS available in the US!! he's such a geek. I'm getting a new doc.
Have you ever tried it, Bob? The buscopan?? Is it pretty much the same thing as the Levsin?

Michelle, No I've never tried it, and no,it's very different
than Levsin, much better I think. Ninety percent of the
Canadians that have posted about say it's very effective.

I live in the UK so have had no problems getting it here, but I started taking it about 6 months ago and it really has helped. I'd consider myself an A these days and it really has helped with the painful bowel cramps/spasms, you know the ones that make you think your about to have D but its just gas!
Obviously like everything it wont suit everyone but if you've never tried it and can get hold of it give it go, after all anythings worth a try ay?
