Okay, I need some thoughts from you guys. I was doing really well with the diet today and made myself eat a proper lunch and everything. But now, after dinner, I am bloated with tummy ache! This is so not fair!

My dinner was...
A glass of soy milk.
Salmon fillet cooked with lemon (from Heather's recipe for cooking Whitefish).
Potato wedges made by spraying them with sunflower oil (not a lot!), sprinkling with salt and baking.
Steamed Carrots.
Some low-cal Mayo.
A teeny bit of spicy sauce (Nando's Peri-Peri stuff).

All I can think is that I had too much mayo, but I have been ok with this stuff. Any ideas? I am now drinking Chamomile Tea like there's no tomorrow and thinking of going to bed early!

I think IBS most definitely obeys Murphy's Law! Oh well, I can try again tomorrow.

It doesn't sound like anything too bad....did you maybe just overeat. It sounds like quite a large lunch?

I find it doesn't matter how safe I eat - overeating kills me!

Hope you are feeling better soon.

Yea, I'm the same way as Lana Marie. Doesn't matter how safe the food is, if I eat very much my belly gets upset. I don't see anything in your menu that should have upset your belly. Exercise also helps with the gas, I would be very embarrassed if anyone heard me during my workouts!!! The heating pad also helps a lot when i am hurting. Feel better soon, I know how frustrating it is when you are trying to be so good and you still don't feel well, but you will soon!

Do you normally eat Salmon? Fish can upset my stomach, but you more likely ate too much.
Hope you are feeling better soon.

What about the soy milk? Are you used to eating soy? If not, that may be it. Or some are never able to tolerate soy at all.

I second what everyone else was saying and fennel tea is great for bloating.

try a short walk and some relaxing deep breathing and focus on relax mind and body. When I feel bloated I do relaxation
breathing and go to bed and find a comfortable position.
I can't do peppermint either, take a break tomorrow and
eat lightly. It sometimes helps me also.
Hope that can help?

Hi!
I find that no matter how healthy and IBS friendly I eat, that I feel bloated after dinner, and sometimes after lunch. IT's a REAL bore. Anyhow, what I find helps immediately is to drink a cup of strong peppermint tea, or eat Altoids if I am busy at work. Plus if I can get up and do the dishes or go for a walk outside, that helps too. If I eat smaller meals more often, that helps fool my body into less bloating. But sometimes, I'd rather just eat a delicious full dinner and deal with the fullness feeling in my stomache, that invariabley causes discomfort or gas in my lg. intestine.
Best of luck, I know how you feel!

Thanks everyone. I shall keep your thoughts in mind today and see if I can do better. I guess I've got to learn that I can't eat the same size meals as my fiance any more!
