I'm not sure if this is being posted in the right place. Please bare with me!

I was dx'd with IBS-C...started on that diet...was dx'd with Celiac after a biopsy...Went off IBS diet and went on Celiac diet...realized I needed to be on both...Started that about a week ago...Went into the doc and discovered I had a low grade fever and a high white blood cell count. Discribed my symtoms and they put me on an antiboiotic right away for divraticulitous (SP). I knew I had divraticula from my colonoscopy. But the GI (about 8 months ago) said they were normal and I had no problem. Now one's infected (or more) and the doctor says I have to watch eating nuts and seeds and things with small seeds such as strawberries and raspberries (Two of the fruits that don't seem to bother my IBS). I of course came home and started to research. Their seems to be opinions on bothsides of the fence when it comes to these eating restrictions. Does anyone here have any opinion or ideas or something they've heard on this subject. I'm staying on the IBS eating plan and Celiac. I just don't no what to do from here. I am on a soft foods only diet right now to give my colon a rest. Any help would be appriciated.

Love,

Jamie

Can you have crackers? How bout rice crackers?

Egg white omelletes?

Boiled fruits?

Steamed/boiled veggies?

Home made soups?

I don't know what you like to eat...but this might help you begin thinking of things...

I was eating GF for years on and off along with this diet...so I can realte...

You can DO THIS *hugs* We are all here to love and ot support you and give you ideas...

You're gonna be GREAT *hugs*

Sending lots of love and yummy ideas your way...

Hi Jamie, Your your fever and WBC are a result of the diver-
ticulitous. Definitely stay away from the fruit with small
seeds, they will only cause more inflamation, possibly
painful too. Do eat soy or regular(if you can tolerate it)
yogurt, and as much as you can because you are taking anti-
biotics.I'd stay away from the hot tea until your fever
goes down, it could exascerbate it. Try drinking a lot of
slightly cool watery fluids. Ruchie's dietary suggestions
are fine, but try and get your fever down, especially if it
is over 100. plenty of rest will help. -Bob"The ER Doctor"K

Thanks Bob for your help! I know you've been sick and you've been in my prayers even though I didn't know you. It was really nice of you to take the time to answer me when you're not well yourself.

Love,

Jamie

Thanks Honey,

The Peppermint tea is out because it messes with my acid reflux but the pasta sounds like a good idea. I can't eat regular pasta because I have celiac but, I can eat the gluten free I have in the cupboard. I really like it. I think it might just be on the menu for dinner.

Love,

Jamie

PS of course I'll take your advice age is not always equal to experience.
