And when I say lots of stores, I mean more than 8. Okay, one isn't reputable as it is Trader Joes...but the others are all private HFS, whole foods, wild oats.

Do I just go without? But I want to take an oil capsule!!

What's the name of your capsules, Bev? How many do you take?

Or do you guys take it right off the shelf? And refrigerate it after you open it only?

I greatly preferred HEMP oil/seeds--note the seeds are IF, but if a little IF from the seeds is okay for you, then perhaps a tsp.? The omega 3/6 ratio is perfectly balanced in the oil itself.

PLUS, it tastes yummy. I used to LOVE Hemp oil on greens, etc. (It's a bit of a trigger--no, a huge trigger, at the moment) It has a nice "nutty" flavour. Hemp protein powder is also available. Hemp caps. are available and I've taken those with success in the past. I've just been neglecting my EFA's. Maybe that's a bad thing. I've never tried Hempnut butter, but it's available as a "margarine" alternative.

Just a more palatable alternative to flax oil/borage oil.

Kate, IBS-D.

The places where I have bought my flaxseed oil and Cod Liver Oil capsules from say refrigerate after opening. The liquid flax oil is usually in a refrigerator, but the CLO is on the shelf also saying refrigerate after opening.
You should also look at the expiry dates on the bottles. I think you should usually have about 1-1/2 - 2 years from when you get it to expiry. That would be a fresh batch.
