I know, it just hurts too bad to eat, today. I ate some cream of wheat (of course) and a mini bagel and that's it, so far.

OH, no....not hair loss, Kate!! Go get some Rogaine for women!! I have a thick head of hair, thank god. I better knock on wood!!! I just look like a skeleton!! My complexion sucks now, too......I'm really pale.

I'm really nauseated today, too. Maybe it's the lack of sun around here & this dull migraine that just pounds. I'm popping advil every 4-6 hours. I think I get low bloodpressure from the Nexium which makes me dizzy/nauseated.

No, I still haven't tried the Luna. Have you? I confess--I'm really apprehensive re: trying new things.

Kate.

No, Rogaine won't work/help.

I actually have stress-related/autoimmune hairloss. The scalp is totally healthy so it will fill in. Have you heard of aloepecia aereata? When I'm stressed out, my hair shows it--my immune system stops growing hair, etc. The endocrinologist said I'm in remission. I'll call him if nothing shows signs of filling in. It happened to me alot in University when I was majorly anorectic--chunks would just vanish overnight. I thought I was over this.

Actually both my endocrinologist and dermatologist said Rogaine and most hair growth cures were scams.

Okay--time to meditate--stress begone/serenity now.

Kate.

AWWW, I'm sorry you're nauseated, too! I have been like this all day......on and off....I don't have a migraine....just icky stomach-achy feeling. Crampy....bloated....nauseated......I don't know. Gas???

I haven't even went to the store to get a luna yet. I want to go get one but I'm too nauseated to drive right now.
Guess I will wait till tomorrow or something!!! Tell you what..... I will try it first, this time. And then I will let you know how I react to it. ???

I didn't even think about the whole low blood pressure thing....I have low blood pressure too. I don't know if it's because of the Nexium and I forgot that it could make me feel dizzy and nauseated!!???!! .......what can we do to bring it (BP) up??? Salt makes my reflux even worse!!!

*HUGS!!*

I've never heard of that.... But, I worked with a girl in the Navy who lost MOST of her hair in about 6 months. I think she may have had what you are talking about. She had something else wrong with her psychologically, though....she was severely bipolar and was on alot of anti-psychotic drugs. She lived with me for a few months and really wigged out on me a couple of times but she was really sweet. I felt bad for her. Her hair never grew back while I knew her. I hope yours fills back in really soon, hon.....I'm sorry.....

Okay, I'm a strange one. I can't tolerate ANY SFS, and God knows I tried 'em all -- and for a long time!

Probiotics did nothing for me.

I used to take 1,200mg. Calcium every day for over 20 years, but now my tummy can't tolerate more than 600mg. I had a bone density test which thankfully showed I didn't need more than 600mg. Yaay.

NuLev did nothing for me. Ditto with Hycosyamine (sp?).

I have a problem with UTIs, but discovered that my tummy can't tolerate any antibiotics except one. Oy. I had my worst attack from the antibiotics, far worse than any Snickers attacks or even Dead Cow Carcass (which, BTW, I've discovered I can tolerate quite well now!)....

Now, having said all that, here are my drugs of choice:

Believe it or not, if I'm stressed or anxious about something coming up, I found a little JD -- that's right, a LITTLE -- Jack Daniels calms down the colon. If I'm having a slight attack, then I turn to Equalactin. It's OTC, and although it claims it's for constipation, which I've never had in my life, it settles my tummy when my attacks aren't bad.

Okay, for serious attacks, I pull out the Big Gun -- Donnatal. It's dangerous stuff, 'cause it's Phenobarbital, very addictive, very habit-forming; thus, I reserve it for ONLY those occasions when the Equalactin won't work and I'm doubled over in bed in the fetal position wanting to die. The Donnatal takes 1-1/2 hrs. to "kick in," but it works EVERY SINGLE TIME, without fail.

Thankfully, I haven't had to take Donnatal for a very long time now, and in fact, I had to throw out my old prescription because it had expired.

Isn't this fun!?

There are a few non-dairy chewable calcium supplements out there, I think, though they might be hard to find.

I saw this one at a Whole Foods and tried it:
http://vitaminshoppe.com/browse/sku_detail.jhtml?SkuID=203050

It was okay -- I finished the box, but I didn't buy them again, since I don't mind the big pills all that much.

I couldn't find any other calcium pills without magnesium or other mineral I don't need in them! Can't take more magnesium because of my fibro pills, I take two of these chews a day to balance out the mag in the fibro pills, or else I get nasty D.

When I do a search on probiotics, you always had a lot of good things to say about Jarro. I'm not sure now if they helped you or not because your old posts were so pro-jarro.

Just curious. I don't know if I'm wasting my money on these or not. Did they help any symptoms at all? Why did you decide they weren't working? Thanks for your help!

Hi Beth,

You're right. At the time when I was taking that Jarro stuff, I was cutting WAAAAAY back on my SFS. I noticed a big difference in my ... uh..... well, you know -- but I attributed it to the probiotics, not the SFS.

As it turned out, I can't tolerate ANY SFS at all. So I wasn't getting better because of the probiotics; I was getting better as I cut out the SFS.

Sorry for the confusion.

B.
