How many of you have never had to go on Miralax? Is it common for most of us, or have most of you become regular with the BMs with just your diet and SFS?

What do you eat, or what Dose and type of SFS helps you to keep pooping?

Hi. As I posted separately, I've become regular with just acacia, magnesium, and vitamin C supplements. I'm not currently following the IBS diet explicitly.

i was prescribed miralax before i found psyllium as a BM aid but found little relief from the few doses of miralax i took [maybe 3?]. it didnt work the same way regular laxatives usually worked for me so i didnt want to continue using it. it always felt there was "more" inside--so i never felt completely empty.
have you tried it before? if youre thinking of going on it, search around a bit. theres probably something much better that will work with you. ive actually been thinking of going off the psyllium and trying this multi-fiber stir-in powder. its organic and blends both SF and IF for a nice combo--i think i may have told you about it already? you can check out these products they may be helpful too. good luck!

I've never used any prescription drugs, nor have I used any OTC laxatives in years. I just use fiber (S + I), magnesium, exercise, herbal tea, and a heating pad! Oh yeah, I follow Heather's diet most of the time, outside of the occasional non-decaf black tea with a few spoonfuls of half & half (wish there were soy creamers widely available at work/restaurants!).

...looks like I'm in the minority here. I wonder why some of us respond so well to diet and SFS and others don't? I think in my case, it's the anxiety and I need to get a CD player so I can start the Hypno tapes! That could be my missing key, cuz Lord knows nothing else is working.

This is exactly how my body is reacting to the Miralax, but Jessica said to give it more time because that's how it first worked with her too.
I have seen the Renew Life products and actually use the Gas Gone(doesn't do much), and have tried the Oil Smart. Have you tried any of the products? If so, which ones and did they work?
I don't know what else would work better for me if not the Miralax. I always thought the Miralax would be the last resort, but that it would definitely help me. Perhaps more time is needed? I will continue taking it until I see my GI doc on Dec 5th.

I think you might be right sweetheart! Can you ask for the CD player for X-mas? You are very right with the fact that people respond differently with this diet, SF and everything else. I really wish you could find some peace with this.

I don't know if you'd call me stable cause I still have the rumbling, gas & sometimes cramps but I do have a BM almost every day or every other day. I don't take any prescription drugs but I do take supplements. It's far from perfect & I'm actually thinking about going on AD's cause EVERY DAY I have to deal with my stomach. I just want to go through one day without "feeling" my tummy if you know what I mean. If you do go on the miralax, I hope it helps Meryl IBS-C
