I guess it depends on the type of person you are. I was anorexic most of my life, which is how I got here in the first place, and I still had BM's everyday. I restricted my calories to less than 500 a day with no more than 5 grams of fat for years. I got down to about 80 lbs and I still had a BM every single day. But, when I got sick with IBS I was IBS-D......so, it all depends on the person. Michelle

and can say I was pretty constipated then. But not like I am now. It's worse now than when I weighed 69 pounds. But I agree with Fishnets....Restricting does promote Constipation. I was in an inpatient eating disorder program and all the gals were taking Citrucel because we were all backed up! It's very common.

Wow, Beth! You got thinner than I did. I probably didn't have a problem with BM because when I was 16, I began abusing laxatives. So, then my D became chronic. I don't know....if I had it to do all over again I would have just stayed fat when I was in high school because I could eat anything I wanted!!!! Not anymore! Now, I want to get fat and I can't! In July I weighed 116 and now I weigh 105. I just keep losing weight because I can't eat anything with fat in it or I have an attack. What the Heck are we gonna do??? Michelle

I always wondered why I got more C when I was in starvation mode for anorexia...and if it made me more C cause there was nothing to "come out" (sorry so gorss!)
I see it now even....if I don't get enough food, esp. fat (believe it or not!) I become more C!
Thanks ladies for enlightening me

...for those who have IBS and eating disorders (current or past)? I peeked in over there, but never bookmarked it.

I tried to eat again? I don't remember. It seems like I was C when I was restricting, but it got worse when I started eating because my bowels didn't know what to do with the food! Or else the muscles weakened.
Yeah, if only we could turn back the clocks. Oh, how differently I would have done things. How many years I spent restricting when I could have been eating....and now I feel like I would gladly eat anything but my body is paying me back. How ironic and sad.

I wish I could still eat whatever I wanted like I could back then. I would get hungry in the middle of the night and go into the pantry and pig out and then go right back to sleep with no pains at all......just woke up fatter....I wish I could have it back! Michelle
