And I read the testomonials on the product website too. I swear I'd find a way to buy this if it gave me the results these people received!
Did you read the link that Michelle provided?
She also said this in her email to me "Beth: My aunt and uncle both have IBS and they take the capsule form from custom probiotics and it has stopped it for them. My aunt also had barretts syndrome, as a result of acid reflux - it is now healed. Give it a try. Vicky

Most slick salesmen are. Think of all the supplements you have purchased. Think of how many did not work. Remember all that you have read here. Know that there is no one pill cure for IBS. Yes, a quality probiotic will help you feel much better. But you do not have to go broke to purchase one and you will still see improvement in your condition.
Beth, there are zillions of "you-will-be better" cures out there. I have family memebers who are up to their eyeballs in debt over supplements and natural treatments trying to cure something that isn't curable and the family member is sicker than ever.
Just don't get swindled. You are not going to find one capsule that is going to cure your IBS. Otherwise this site and all the folks here would not exist.
I'm not trying to be a downer. Just putting up a red flag of caution.

And you explained it so well. I don't care how many testimonials someone gives me - especially if they're not an authority on the issue, have no real research to back up that their product is better than another, and ESPECIALLY if they are trying to sell me on a product that's ridiculously expensive.
I would recommend doing research, such as visiting the American College of Gastroenterology site and the International Foundation for Functional Gastrointestinal Disorders for recent studies and accurate, authoritative information on IBS. You'll see that these experts agree there is currently no cure and, as Bamagirl and Heather both point out, probiotics help with symptoms but don't eliminate IBS.
Also, if you're not sure which probiotic you should buy, Consumer Reports recently (7/05) did a report on probiotics, how to choose, cost, ratings, health benefits, etc. You should see if your library carries the magazine or you could check www.consumerreports.org
