hi all

i just started taking bactrim for a bad upper respiratory infection which has really set off my ibs. i have had 2 attacks this week, which is a lot considering i was stabilized. does anyone have suggestions on how to limit this negative effect of the antibiotics? unfortunately, i just can't stop taking them.

thanks
amy

Queenie--You might try taking probiotics. There are several different kinds available at healthfood stores. There are also a lot of posts on this site, so do a search on probiotics to see what others have to say about this.

I've been on several rounds of antibiotics in the past couple of months, and probiotics have helped somewhat.
