I'm checking in to see whether anyone has feedback about their experiences taking Lotronex. I searched the site and didn't see too many posts in recent months.

I've had IBS for a long time and have tried just about everything it seems. I've had a lot of improvement with the diet, tea, peppermint caps, hypnosis, etc., but IBS is still a daily concern for me, so my GI is recommending Lotronex now. To this point, I've been willing to try anything to curb my IBS, but I'm kind of afraid of the step to Lotronex. Please let me know about your experiences -- both good and bad.

Thanks in advance!
Ivy

I haven't tried Lotronex, but I am IBS-D and wanted to suggest a couple of things you might try before your GI hauls out the really big guns. You may already have tried these, but you don't mention them, so just in case...

SFS. Lots of SFS was crucial for me.
Imodium as needed to ward off attacks.
Imodium on a daily basis as a preventive measure.
Anti-spasmodics like Donnatol.

HTH.

...and please make sure you are an ideal Lotronex candidate before you even try it. That stuff can be dangerous.
