I'm Asian, so I eat rice and lots of vegetable side dishes every night for dinner. Afterwards, I have grapes and sometimes popcorn for dessert. I drink tons of water all day and walk everyday, as well. No problemo.

Beth,

It seems the only foods that "should" make you go may also trigger attacks, like fiber one cereal and prunes and raisins. In the old days, fiber one and prunes were good but not anymore, they might cause a horrible attack. My doctor gave me Zelnorm and although I have read mixed reviews, that (with 3 doses of the Acacia fiber)Zelnorm is amazing! It has worked wonders for me. Maybe this helps

Yes. Actually, we have two pear trees in our yard, and I have in-laws who hate to see good fruit go to waste and who also happen to be very sweet and also love to preserve things, sooooo my mother-in-law canned this awesome pear relish that is salsa-like in texture, made of pears, green, red and yellow peppers, onions and a mixture of spices....I use it as a side with my veggies, put it on my sandwich...and I notice a difference. She also made some awsome dessert pears and pickled pears...all have the same effect....I think simply put, pears are the helping element here. Sorry I got carried away!

I am assuming anything from the seaweed family would be good.

Are they Bartlett? Those are my favorite. The bosc are good too, but skin is tougher.

Do you get the C effect with or without the skin kept on it? I wonder if this would still work if I peeled a pear.

When I am C which seems to be more often lately I eat vegetable minestrone soup. It has lots of veggies and potatoes and beans in it. Sometimes the beans and IF cause a little bit of gas but nothing compared to the feeling of not being able to go and having that gas trapped.

I don't remember the name of the pear, but they are very large, green and kind of grainy inside. They make wonderful pickles because of the crunchiness! Same for the relish! Fresh off the tree they are sort of semi-sweet and very juicy! The tree we had such a good crop from is over 50 years old! The tree in the front of the house produces a smaller, sweeter pear and has been planted in that spot since....the late 1800's! We have a picture! (if I knew where I stored it!) It didn't have many pears this year though, so we picked from the "younger" tree!

Definitely, asparagus! Beets, too! And green beans! Artichokes, too. Fennel bulbs. Radishes/daikon. Baby bok choy/shanghai bok choy. Brussels sprouts.

Bananas make me crap like crazy, too.

Somebody mentioned sushi, and yes...seaweed makes me REALLY GO,GO,GO!!!

There's the MSG thing too.

And well...lettuce.

I won't get into D triggers! Honestly, asparagus, artichokes, beets, green beans--they have me plugging up the toilet.

Kate.

I've been very C lately, and I've found apple cider and dairy-free carob covered raisins to be lifesavers. Both have the potential to bother me when I'm unstable, but lately they've been a big help. The cider I'm very careful to have with a nice SF dinner, but the raisins I've been snacking on at all times without any problems. I also find that a thick, hot beverage like safe hot cocoa or chai helps me go sometimes, too. Having oatmeal for dinner used to help, but lately oatmeal has caused me some problems so I've given that up for the time being. I hope you find something that helps you!
