I'm happy to say that I've finally gotten around to officially joining these boards (rather than lurking, heh)! This is my first time using Forums, so let's hope I'm posting this correctly!
I've had IBS-D for my entire life (25 yrs) but had little luck lessening my symptoms or even understanding what was wrong with me until I began learning about Heather's diet about a year ago. It's changed my life, like so many others here. I'd say I'm at about 70% stable, which is a vast improvement, trust me!
SO... thank you Heather and to everyone on these boards who have contributed their invaluable advice!!!

IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages:
"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!
