I stay away from sleeping pills but what about soma?

IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages:
"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!

From what I understand most pain pills have a constipating effect. I learned this when I had oral surgery and was given morphine...demerol...etc. Also when I took vicodin after a car wreck.

I can "look" at a pill and become "C" so it may just be that I am uber-sensitive.

Hi Minnie, Try melatonin! After I read that thread on it, I
went out and got some(3mg tablets). It works well! Also, it's
supposedly very good for you. -Bob

Soma is VERY strong and highly addictive. Did your doctor prescrible this? I wouldn't take it without trying other meds first.

I'll let you know if I get addicted! I have tried other muscle relaxers and soma is the only one that works. He better prescribe it. I go on Wednesday.
