I was almost out of fibercon yesterday so I only took 1 tablet in the morning. I got some later that evening and took 4 (my usual dosage in the a.m. and then I take 2 before each meal...it has been working for me) Then this morning I took my usual 4. Now I did go to work today which is always a stress inducer and often I will take 1 immodium before going to work. I went about 2 times before I left the house and then could see it was going to be a frequent bathroom day. (not D but just lots of BM!) I took another immodium and still it didn't help. I finally took a lomotril b/c I can't keep getting up a 100 times to use the bathroom. That finally did the trick. So I actually have 2 questions. 1. Could taking too much fiber make you go too much. 2. Can Immodium build a tolerance where it doesn't work anymore?
I just wish I could stop the frequency and the urgency on days where I need to be somewhere. I don't understand why I can't get it all done in one sitting!
I can relate somewhat with your post. I am not really sure what I am - But I think I would call it IBS with pain. ALways have crampy, below the belly button pain. I have at least 1 BM every day. But I have those days where I will go 5 or 6 times a day. Not D but just very frequent visits to the bathroom. I agree- It should just come out in the first sitting. That would make it sooo much easier.
