Hi Augie,

I am boring, I have oatmeal everyday during the week. On the weekends, I have a bagel w/ butter (I am able to eat only butter w/out a problem). Sometimes, if I am really hungry, which I am usually not in the morning, I will have two egg whites with grilled Oven Gold Turkey (the only turkey on earth that I can handel) on a bagel.

one more question...If I ate an orange or a grapefruit, should I cut it open and only eat the inside (peel off the rind)? Or do you eat it in sections with the white rind still on it?

Should these be cut open and only eat the inside pulp...or can I peel off the rind, split into pieces, and eat the white covering that holds it in the individual sections?

Beth, With respect to grapefruits, they would be a real pain
to peel. I just cut them into a half dozen slices and just
eat the pulp. -Bob

All I do is peel and eat the orange, in sections. I don't like grapefruit so don't eat them at all!!

Yep, their 100% Whole Grain Bread. I don't find it that much more challenging than the Roman Meal bread that I grew up eating. And it makes really yummy toast!

Hi Beth!
Here are some ideas that work for me in the morning-
I can tolerate oatmeal- I use old fashioned kind, add 1Tbs. ground flaxseed, cinnamon, vanilla and a bit of stevia. cook and add a sliced banana or blueberries. sometimes I'll add a chopped peeled apple to the oatmeal before I cook it as well.
try oatbran instead of oatmeal too.

try a good fresh(from a bakery- not store) sourdough bread, toasted with jam or applesauce on it. or make an egg sandwhich with cooked egg whites/spices.

I also really like Natures Path 'Millet Rice Oatbran flakes' (its wheat free), and I easily tolerate that. I throw in a Tbs. ground flax seed, sliced banana or blueberries and pour over soymilk.

try making a smoothie- soymilk(or ricemilk, whichever you tolerate), ground flaxseed, canned pumpkin, cinnamon, vanilla, ice cubes and stevia(i use that as a sweetner).

a flour tortilla w. scrambled egg whites and veges(that you can tolerate) and spices.

hope you find something

-Jen

You can peel and eat oranges and cut grapefruits or buy mandarin orange cans. If you eat it with breakfast you will be fine.
On my trip in April one B&B gave me a half grapefruit each morning before breakfast and I ate it and then had toast and I was fine. Boy did she make lousy egg whites there!!!

I used to eat oatmeal in the mornings from time to time, but lately it's been bothering me more. I think part of it is the time I have to get up for work... everything is harder for me to tolerate early in the morning and late at night.

Now I usually eat either toast, a bagel, or a homemade muffin or piece of quick bread. I do try to work insolubles into my muffins and breads as much as possible. I often bake them with half white and half whole wheat flour. The white gives it enough SF that it never seems to bother me. I also love Shanna's banana bread, which gives me some oats!
