I would be fine with it as long as the "spices and flavoring" does not include MSG. ~nt~ new

That's a personal preference thing. Tho MSG would be a trigger if it was in there.

I'd try a teeny bit of this with SF after SF...and of course w/out the beef steak!

I'm looking at that list and not seeing the triggers! Are you just talking about personal triggers and not those on Heather's list?

You must be so confused by now! Just to add an opinion, I'd say to wait until you feel better to try it. You are just starting on the diet so maybe you should wait until you feel more in control of your symptomss to eat it...unless you already do feel okay.

I agree with Beth...should've mentioned that this is not a great thing to try if you're totally unstable right now.

But other than that, it does NOT contain any standard triggers (assuming it doesn't contain MSG) and it'll be down to just your personal tolerances as to whether it's okay for you or not.

Yeah, I suppose a little bit. . I was just going by
Heather's guidelines which I think are a bit on the liberal
side. I wouldn't eat that sauce! Surprisingly there's a fair
amount of people that can. I noticed that a lot of Heather's
main entree recipes are surprisingly spicy with garlic and
onions, etc. I could barely eat that before I got IBS. -Bob

Just to add to the confusion, I think this looks totally safe. Yes, onions and garlic can be triggers for some people, but I'm sure there isn't too much of it in this sauce. Plus you'll be eating it with other foods and presumably some SF. I'd certainly use the sauce.

Thanks for all your responses!
I am not completely stable yet, but I have had no pain and no pure D in almost 2 weeks. But I am losing weight way to fast and need to start eating more. That is why I'm hoping this sauce works out. Bland food really makes me lose my appetite and right now I am actually forcing myself to eat. I need flavor really bad!!! LOL
I have used this sauce on chicken in the past and it is delicious. I will wait a little longer, but I'm going to try it on some chicken breast and see what happens.

I probably should have added that this is really not a spicey sauce. It is more fruity than spicey. You can barely taste the horseradish.

IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages:
"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!
