Ashley:

I'm not sure what's available at your HFS. I'd just go there and explore. There's tons of vegan enzyme formulas. Mine are made by Swiss Herbals. Udo has a really good blend, as well.
I don't have any gastric juices, so enzymes are really essential for me. (Protease for protein; lipase for fats; amylase for carbohydrates; cellulase for fibre; lactase for lactose) Obviously I don't need the lactase one!

Truly, I believe it's the psyllium that's the cause of the problem. Personally, there isn't a single SFS out there that doesn't give me gas, bloating, and asthma/breathing problems.

Kate, IBS-D--nearly A.

I was OK in the AMs, but mid afternoon it would come on and by evening I was miseable. I was only using 1-1.5 tsp each Am and PM and I only drink water and tea and a lot of it at that. It's definitely a tricky balancing act. Gotta love it!

how many grams of fiber?? i think it was 5 grams/fiber per tablespoon--so something like 15 grams? give-or-take.

i went without it and psyllium unsynched with eachother for 4 days when traveling and it sucked

oh side problems, i ment bloating and gas. IBS is either constipation or diarrhea, and bloating and gas are side problems to either of those.

..you are currently taking 15 grams of acacia at once every morning? And then the 3 grams of psyllium at night?

Maybe your morning dose is overload. Have your tried reducing the morning fiber to maybe 1 1/2 tablesoon, then haveing another 1 1/2 Tablespoons at lunch, then psyllium at night. Or even, 1 T of acacia at each meal, then the psyllium at night with enough time to get in the water required to absorb it.

I didn't realize you were only taking 3 grams of psyllium...I personally don't think that would be enough to be the sole cause of your bloat....but I'm no expert either!

Hi Beth, I would say the flours are because they're more
broken down, it would be the same effect as when you puree
IF berries,etc. -Bob

hehe "silly woman"

i live about 30-40 minutes away on a good traffic day! not directly in the city, but my BF lives in the first neighborhood that becomes "chicago". we stayed in an apartment that was in the city, you could see the beautiful skyline so perfect! but they wouldnt allow pets either! i wanted my kitty-cat to come live with us but my BF is terribly allergic to cats so it wouldnt work.

i really wanna take ballet! or something in spare time. since im broke now from my vacation i need to pay back my checking account before i have any kind of "fun" LOL that costs anything! i like photo and since im gonna start school next sem. im gonna start going out to photograph but only when i have moohlah to develop my pics!!

i think landlords should let you have pets b/c they rock!!! ill post a pic of me and my kitty!! click the link!

so youve had bloat probs with psyllium too? im sure it works for me..i keep thinking that my food from the night before causes me to have a famine-belly the morning after but im not sure.

i checked out some "green food" at my HFS and found organic barley powder that you stir into juice..etc. i was inspired by all your green foods that i wanted to find something myself! theres this really helpful lady at a vitamin store i go to who is really really nice/understanding. i think when im able to [money-wise] ill go ask her to help me find some good stuff! thanks kate

PS--how do you pick out your veggies and greens? how do you prepare them sans trigger-ingredients? ive ventured out and began eating boiled zucchinin which is my new fave!
