I eat peaches because they actually seem to help regulate my intestines. They make me have a bowel movement in the mornings more often. I get both constipation and diarrhea, but the peaches acutally help because when things are moving regularly I have less symptoms. I will eat plums too but I generally only eat them at night in case they cause me problems. If I do have a problem with fruit it is usually gas, not D.

except I usually peel apples and pears. I don't do well with melon. I can handle some but always eat too many and then feel like a whole watermelon is in my belly.

Or only the plums? I was just asking because Michelle recently posted that plums gave her a problem, so I was wondering if that fruit gives you a problem as well.
Do you eat peaches with the skin on?

Oops, I didn't specify. I do peel the apples, just because the skin is so fibrous that it makes me nervous!

Just curious what effect they have on you and how you identified them as a problem.

...if she had it in addition to her IBS. So, when I said "do you have it too" I meant, "do you have it in addition to IBS". Because I noticed she couldn't eat strawberries and thought that might be the reason why since others could eat strawberries okay.
Hope that explains it a little better. Poor grammar on my part

Heather, Really! If you think apple skins are too tough, and you're very stable, then maybe I'm being rather stupid by eating an apple with skin just after a banana for lunch. I'm not at all stable particularly in regard to BM's and gas. I just thought I needed the extra IF to help with the BM's, but if it's actually causing spasms and gas, that's not helping. Hmm....Thanks for the info. -Bob

Hi Kree, Wow, after just reading Minnie's, Casey's, Heather's and your posts, I just realized I've been very stupid eating apple skins! Do you know if you bake apple skins are they 'ok'? I'm definitely not eating them raw anymore! -Bob

I can with a few exceptions- like I can't do a lot of melon, and I am better off without the skins on some of the other stuff...
