I am constantly fighting dehydration which I'm sure contributes to my IBS-C. The problem is sometimes when I drink water I get instant cramping and occassional nausea. Does anyone else have this problem?

Here in Australia there is a terrible drought on. The temperatures here in Adelaide are rising to the high 30s Celsius again this week so making sure I'm fully hydrated is imperative. I've been told that we need 2 litres fluid per day up to 25 degrees then for every 5 degrees above that another 1/2 litre. I have found that by sipping the water slowly, at regular intervals I have been able to control adverse symptoms and still get what I need. Also putting some fresh ginger root in hot water helps enormously. Hope this is of some help.
