When is the best time to take it...before a meal, after a meal, any time of the day?

Amy's post that said she takes it before meals got me thinking...since I usually only take one tsp after my breakfast. And sometimes just during the day, no particular time in comparison to my meal.

I'm just curious if there is a time that is more helpful and effective. And if powder is any different than pills (if one is better than the other). I take the powder since I already take so many other supplements in pill form with all that gelatin which does who knows what).
Thanks

the powder is definately better than the pills. The powder coats the whole intestinal lining as it goes down (oesphagus included which is great for GERD) the pills don't start until they begin to dissolve in the stomach so stay with the powder, it's much more effective
