Can you mix a SFS into hot tea?

I was thinking the easiest way to take my Benefiber would be to mix it into my peppermint tea. But when I tried that, I got little clumps all over the place. How do you guys take your powder supplements? And can you tell a difference, is there a taste to them? I know it says tasteless, but I have a hard time believing that you won't notice a difference in your water or tea.

I do that once in awhile. Wait until the tea has cooled a bit. That usually helps some.

I called the company (back when I was taking it) and they told me it loses it's ability to act as an SFS when heated.

Does the bottle say anything about not putting it in hot beverages or on hot foods? Sometimes they say to only add it to room temperature foods/beverages.

I almost always take my SFS (Benefiber as well) with my peppermint tea. I find it doesn't clump when I wait for it to cool down a bit and if i stir and pour at the same time rather than dumping it all in at once.

I agree with the others. I usually let it cool a little, too, and then the Benefiber goes in fine.

Benefiber did fine in hot tea for me but Acacia not so good. I now put Acacia in applesauce.

Hmm.... I always mix my SFS (Benefiber or Acacia) into a bit of cold water at the bottom of the cup until it's dissolved (usuall use a fork to mix) and then pour the hot water or tea on top. That always works for me

Me too! Actually, I use tepid water because it mixes a bit faster, but same principle. Works like a charm for both hot and cold drinks....

Do you take 2 different SFS at the same time? Like one type in am and another later?

I'm interested in if you think it is better to mix them up a bit...do you think it makes them work better? I know Kandee does this.

Any thoughts?

If I am home I mix acacia in the water first and then heat it in the microwave. At work I have a hot shot in my office which heats up a cup of water so I put the acacia in the bottom of the cup and have to put the hot water in. It takes a few mins. of stirring but the acacia does disolve. You just have to be patient.

Nope, I use Acacia exclusively most of the time; I just use Benefiber if I run out of Acacia or if I'm a little short on cash to order more because I can get Benefiber in the drug store. I really prefer Acacia though. I just meant to imply that I've done it (dissolving for tea etc) with both and it's worked just fine You're right though, others definitely do have success in mixing different kinds of SFS - i.e. Kandee, and I think Elizabeth (e_mcmaster) does that too.
