Anyone hear anything about Regulux? Apparently, there is no internet presence for this, but it is a "herbal" cleanser that promises to "cure" IBS by clearing out all that terrible decaying fecal matter that has been in our intestines for 50 years and all those toxins (all big alternative medicine unprovable themes).

Anyone know of it or try it? Someone trying to be helpful sent me a full page clipping from a North Carolina newspaper saying how it would get rid of IBS forever, yet it has no medical validation, just the usual "testimonials" that are anonymous, don't even have names like Joe Smith! I tend to frown on such things because there is so little control over alternative medicine. One anonymous testimonial says the person had IBS for 50 years, but after taking a few Regulux pills and having her system flushed out (in other words, the herbs give you the runs big time!) she is now regular every single day and has absolutely no IBS. If it was that easy, maybe every IBS patient should just have a garden hose thrust down their throat and be hosed down until nothing comes out but pure clear water?

Thanks, Beth. How do you do a search of old archived subjects? That was pretty cool. One person on another IBS forum said, "Try it, they offer a money back guarantee". I thought "You mean if I die or end up in the ER?" I just don't think harsh herbal cleansing of an irritable bowel seems like a very wise gesture, any more than tickling a cranky rattlesnake under the chin.

I would have been cured during my colonoscopy prep! It certainly cleared out everything (and that was just the prelaxative ) for a long long time and guess what? I still feel just as bad as I did before. Anything (even herbal) that gives people major D is a big trigger and it may or may not make things worse but it's doubtful it will make it better. Hope this helps and sorry to dissapoint

Don't know anything about Regulux but I believe my IBS/D began 25 years ago when a doc decided my other health problems (minor problems) would be "fixed" if he gave me a serious cleaning out with medication. Long after I quit the meds the D just never went away and I began the pattern of panic attacks that are a frequent companion to constant D. My life changed from that time on.
