As if you don't feel rotten enough dealing with IBS on a daily basis now I have been struck with the flu. Which means I don't feel much like exercising etc but am trying to because of the IBS.

How do cold and flu symptoms affect everyones IBS? I'm dying to take some cold and flu tablets but worry about the effect they will have. Anyone know from experience?
Ingredients listed are:
paracetemol
psuedoephedrine
hydrochloride
dextromethorphan
hydrobromide
doxylamine succinate

It's all a foreign language to me apart from the paracetemol!

Help!

So sorry you're not feeling well. Had that myself just 2 weeks ago and couldn't take anything because I'm pregnant. Sigh.
I don't know what your aussie drugs are called. Feel free to take Tylenol (acetaminophen) for aches and pains and fever, and by all means all the candies you want to suck on if your throat is sore. Cough candies are usually OK with me but I find that hard candy works just as well. Keep up your fluids. Lots of tea - any flavour you think you can keep down. Maybe mild ginger? Soda crackers help - both IBS and an upset tummy (saltines). Chicken soup, and plain bland rice are also safer choices. Take care and feel better. BTW - your boy is adorable. He looks to be about the same age as my son (who is 18 months).

Thanks Hansolo for the good advice. And yes we think he's adorable too. He just turned two so we are going through the terrible twos a bit but we love him to pieces. His name is Harrison. (our harrybear!)
