Having trouble locating info. on restaurants with some safe food. I saw it on the IBS site here somewhere or in the books, but now can't locate it. One of the restaurants is Chilis and the chicken grill - can anyone help with this info.? thanks, Barb

There's a sticky post at the top of this Board called, "Brand Name Recommendations for IBS-Safe Foods" that has a couple of safe restaurant dishes in it. You'll get far more info if you Search. Here's a thread that might help you get started.

Try going to the websites of restaurants you want to eat at. It makes it more certain which things are ok. For instance I eat at Noodles and Co a lot and have checked out the info on their website to find the safe choices. I know Applebee's has the Weight Watchers meals and some of those are safe because of being low in fat. I always order everything without oil everywhere.

IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages:
"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!

THANK YOU SO MUCH EVERYONE. I checked out all the threads and have very good info. now. I ate at CHILIS today and had the grilled chik,vegies/rice and hot water for my own peppermint tea, all agreed with me. There was supposed to be a reference to WHY? the rice was deleted by someone, but I couldn't find it, anyone know why you wouldn't eat the rice? Thanks again, Barb in FL

I always worry about rice because most packaged preseasoned rice uses MSG, and MSG is a trigger for some people. But I am the one who put the Chili's grilled chicken platter on the Safe Brands list, because I have tried it and had no adverse effect. I sent Chili's an email to ask them if they use MSG in the rice, but they have not answered me back.
