Oh no! I didn't know that. Now I'm even more stressed out about taking the pill!
Thanks for the info.

Maybe I shouldn't go on the pill since my IBS is really really bad. I don't know what to do. I keep thinking about should I or shouldn't I take the pill?! I don't know what to do. My life is aways so hard!!!

I say go for it. If worse comes to worse, you can always stop. But, there is the chance it may help you feel better during your period.

There's only one way to find out if the pill will work for you!

I hate to tell you this but the pill doesn't always take away the pain (though everyone is different).

Often you'll still need to have something else to help ease the cramps. Hopefully it will just be midol, advil, or something else. I myself used to be perscribed birth control and tylonel 3 to help ease the pain but I still hurt some. Though that was just me.

Hope everything works out.

Robyn's right. Sometimes the first prescription they give you won't take away the pain. Often you have to find a birth control that works with your body. I'm currently on my third type of pill and will probably soon be on my forth.

Not trying to scare you - but don't get discouraged if it doesn't work with the first prescription. Your doctor can prescribe you different types to find the one that is right for you.

I also take 800 milligrams of motrin that my doctor prescribed which helps too.

I guess I'll have to. I don't know if there's any other meds I can take though. More stress in my life is what I really don't need. If the pill doesn't help me and makes me sicker I have no idea what I'm going to do.
Thanks.

Well even if all the pain doesn't go away I hope most of it goes away at least.
I wish I was a guy!
Thanks

I forgot to mention that the doc probably won't give me Tyenol3 since it can make you C and I already have severe IBS c.

Angel, after my Doctor of Internal Medicine and I had finally figured out that the pill was the trigger that made my IBS horrible, she told me a simple test that, had I known, would have helped me make a decision about whether or not I was going to take it in the first place. If you have diarrhea when you have your period, or have diarrhea each time you are pregnant, the pill will probably be diarrhea inducing for you. Has something to do with the hormones. I also learned on the digestive disorders website today that many brands of the pill use lactose as one of their ingredients. So, if you are lactose intolerant you need to be sure you don't get a pill that has that in it. Knowing and checking on those two things should help you make an informed decision.
