I get bloat, gas, and cramps from them all. I've tried fiber choice, citrucel (orange, clear, and caplets), fibercon, equalactin, Benefiber...

I don't know if I should try any others (acacia, fiber smart, konsyl or metamucil) or just give up. I haven't taken any for about 5 months and don't notice a difference in the BMs. I didn't have BMs with them or without them.

I am currently just taking 2 or 3 teaspoons of flax powder a day. Thinking of increasing the flax, but worry about that too.

Thanks for asking the question. I'm interested to see what others have to say.

Oh, I'm a C person with pain, so which I could tolerate them as they would be very helpful for me...I would think.

In the past I had lots of trouble with any type of fiber pill/powders. I didn't notice any difference in BM's only more or less bloating and gas, and extreme discomfort. I currently take Milk of Magnesia nightly , prescritption potassium, Zelnorm, and 1/2 tsp of acacia. Right now I am trying to lessen the MOM slowly and increase the acacia. I seem to either have D or C, nothing inbetween right now. I don't want to stop the D in fear of it leading to a C episode which usually ends up being a stay in the hospital. Heather's diet has helped tremendously in not having pain, and bloating.

I'm actually TOTALLY fine with my SFS - FiberChoice, I was up to 8g a day - but when I moved back in September, I missed a few doses, which turned into a week, which turned into me basically never taking it anymore.

While one would argue, then, that I don't NEED it, I will definitely point out that I eat a LOT, most of which is still SF, and I don't "cheat" (I prefer to call it "pushing the limits") on the diet nearly as much as a lot of people do. And I'm still not 100% stable all the time. Would I be better off taking it again? Most likely. But my financial situation is such that I can't afford to buy the stuff anyway, so for now, I think I'm managing.

acacia and psyllium too right? I thought you were taking citrucel caplets, psyllium powder, and acacia? Did you stop taking the other two?
