D, fiber and water

Do you still have to drink a lot of water for the fiber products to work properly even if you have D?

Yep, definitely! Getting dehydrated is a big problem with D so don't stint on that water. Plus it's just good for you anyway.

Yes! You need that water for the SF to work. The fiber dissolves in the water and forms a gel that fills up your colon so you get some bulk. I'm D predominant and I can see how you would worry, but I drink lots of water and it only helps.

I got sick once and threw up after taking fiber pills(unrelated to IBS or the pills - bad Thai food I think) and the pills really do expand to a lot bigger than their starting size. I was staring at the toilet going, "cool!"
