Pickles are like cucumbers. 1st off they have seeds. If you de-seed them they might be safe. Personally they make me have an attack of MAJOR PAIN and avoid them!!!

You will have to try it out and see for yourself or adhere to Heather's basic guidelines...

I just wanted to second Ruchie. You will have to try them to see how you react. I know I can handle one or two sweet gherkins (the whole cucumber sweet pickles) and be fine.

Dill pickles, on the other hand, have always disagreed with me a little, and I'm pretty sure a whole one would do me in.

Hang in there.

I love pickles! Pickled anything! Show me the vinegar baby!

Pickles go well with rice to soften the blow of the sour, and also to pad around any IF that may be in them. The Japanese have the right idea with it.

Before posting a question for every single little food you want to know, ask yourself this first. Is it on the safe soluble fibre list? web page Then it's safe to eat. Is it on the trigger list? web page
Then it's not safe to eat. If it's on neither of those lists, you should treat it as insoluble fibre and should be eaten with care, and after soluble fibre.

I actually do ok with pickles. They are insoluble fiber so you do need to treat them with caution. I eat the sweet gerkins right out of the jar for a snack or cut them up and put them in my tuna.

I am stable -- and I might have one slice of a pickle with a soy burger for flavor -- but I don't push it. I have them every so often in small amounts. I wouldn't just chomp down on a whole one -- and I wouldn't do it on an empty tummy.
