We have created an IBS/FBD survey based on the Rome II criteria. It will help categorize symptoms into various categories. There is also a section on quality of life. You have the option of receiving your results via e-mail and then downloading a copy of the Rome II questions, which may help in discussions with your Doctor.

No personal information is required to do the survey. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

The survey is located at
www.healthqualityoflife.com

I'm all for research being done and don't mind taking the time but I want to be sure its legit. I was always told not to fill out anything on line of a personal nature unless the web site has that little yellow lock thing on the bottom tool bar and I don't see that on this web site? Any input?

Michele,

I was aprehensive about this survey also. I will not give any personal info on line. I didn't even go to the web page. Does it say what they will be doing with the info?

I just filled it out...They don't ask anything personal really....no names or address...they ask age, zip code, employment status, who you live with, general stuff, then the rest is symptom questions....Michelle, the yellow lock thing is for credit cards, it's a type of secure server thing, you always look for that when asked for your credit card number, which this doesn't. It seems legit to me, the questions they do ask are useful in research to categorize samples of people.

Just did it. They ask no personal info; you don't even have to give your email address if you don't wish to. So, nothing lost, and perhaps you've been of help.

Hello:

For those who are worried about security, the yellow lock is only for SSL credit card transactions. We never ask for your name and all the other information (such as age, gender, etc.) is purely optional, although it may help researchers analyze geographic/demographic trends with IBS/FBD patients. The company that designed the survey has a link on the main page, they are a leading biomedical research company, focused on the gut (to put it plainly).

Thanks,
