Thanks to Heather for the info on the MAP bacteria in the newsletter this week. Very interesting and encouraging! I really appreciate your taking the time to gather this info each month for all of us. The article didn't say whether they think it can be treated, although I assume if it's a bacteria they will be looking at antibiotics. Does anyone have any further info on this??

Hi
This article on MAP bacteria also caught my eye, and gave me some hope of eventually easing the suffering of IBS for many. What intrigued me is the claim that IBS sufferers in the Swedish tests were found to have "inflamed gut nerves". Would this be treatable through some kind of medication or therapy that healed the inflamation? Would that help the gut to calm down and then the other triggers would not be as intense...IE: seratonin, caffeine, fat, insoluble fibre? I would love it if someone did some more tests on this MAP association with IBS...ASAP! Though I do wonder if the IBS folks they tested in Sweden were IBS-D, or C, C-D, or all three were represented?

Anyhow in the meantime, it made me think of the Molo-Cure (hoax or help?) that people have been posting about lately. Maybe the fact that it is a concentrated version of the healing constituent found in Aloe Vera that helps with inflammation, means that it would help with IBS/MAP. And the fact that the gut-irritants in Aloe have been removed from Molo-Cure would mean that it would be tolerable to IBS folks. Of course the price tag is probably going to prevent me or anyone else finding this out anytime soon. I can only hope that more tests are done to figure out how to deal with the MAP, and whether Molo-Cure or some other supplement would do the trick for us!
Just Hoping...
Kris
