I have a cooling, kind of minty sensation in the back of my throat. I take peppermint caps a few times a day - could this be the cause? Has anyone ever had this happen?

Have you done a search? It's been brought up lots before. If you don't have GERDs or heartburn then don't worry!

I did try doing a search, but I didn't know how to word it so that what I was looking for came up.
Thanks for your reply!

and I would also burp peppermint. When I first found out I had IBS - they thought I had acid reflux or GERD (I had heartburn like symptoms - upper GI pain etc.)- and gave me some meds -- but I haven't had those symptoms or had to use the meds since I started following the diet -- and lost some weight. So -- I don't know whether that's true or not. Other than avoiding tomato products (other than small amounts of raw) I can handle a cup of peppermint tea on occasion --- but if I take those peppermint tablets I get the minty sensation. Strange since I thought it was coated to not break down until your intestines. How does it get back up to my throat?
