I've seen it advertise, and I am extremely curious about this particular type of medication. Is it available in Canada? Does it even work? And would you still have to eat proper foods if you take it correctly?

I don't know the answers to all your questions, but from what I gather, you still need to follow the diet when taking Zelnorm.

Use your search option and type in zelnorm, all forums, with no time limits. This drug has had a zillions of posts and responses about it. It's mixed. Some say it works, others say no.
You should try to use the search button first always before posting a question. It keeps the board from getting clogged up with repetative questions. This is Heather's advice too!
Don't know if it's available in Canada.

To be honest with you, I didn't even know there was a search bar up there. I'll try it.

I use it all the time. Just type in any topic and you get a wealth of responses from people since the beginning of this website!
Tons of info, opinions, and ideas that you could never think of on your own. It has given me tons of invaluable information.

Yes you need to follow the diet while on zelnorm. What it does is help the bowels have more contractions. Triggers will still hurt you. Like any drug it works for some and not for others. It only works in females. It is a contipation drug. The gut needs seratonin to run just like your brain. Zelnorm put seratonin into the disgestive tract. I personally like Miralax for constipation if you need more help than just the IBS diet. I am on both zelnorm and miralax, but I have pretty bad problems. Hope this helps. Wendy in Oklahoma
