I just got back from the doctor and after feeling my stomach and me telling him where it hurt, he said I have gastritis and to take prilosec twice a day. Has anyone ever had to do this? Did it cause worse IBS symptoms? Ive just heard that these kind of medicines can cause D and I definitely dont want that!

I used Zantac, and was on Pantoloc for a while. But then again, it was before my IBS diagnosis....so I'll let you know tomorrow when i see him about IBS,GERD and gastritis..... I found the Pantoloc to help the STOMACH though.

HTH, that was a little cryptic. I'm getting an official IBS diagnosis tomorrow-it's unofficial right now.

Hi, I too have Gastritis(chronic I guess?), I used to take Prilosec and it didn't cause D or any side effects. It wasn't strong enough for me though so I switched to Protonix.

...and controlling the acid helped my IBS too! So fingers crossed it just does the same for you.
