Can anyone recommend A SMALL diet kitchen food scale? (counter & storage space is very limited). OUR (both Shane & I) new Personal Trainer has us on a really strict menu planS...I'd like to be able to weigh our food for a while until I get a hang of it visually. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

You can find them at Wal-mart or any one of those "kitchen stores". I don't think one brand makes too much of a difference over another. I have one from Wal-mart that I have for years and it's fine.

I have one that has a small base and a larger food bowl that fits on top.. I can go look at the brand.. but I can put a pound of yarn in the bowl (I use it for both yarn and food), and the bowl is dishwasher safe. I keep it in the cupboard, but all you would want to leave out is the base anyway

Mine's just like Khyricat's - small base, bowl that sits on top. It's by American Family Scale Co., Chicago, Illinois. I've had it for years and years and years and it's still pretty accurate (checked it against the Post Office scale just a week ago - I also use it for weighing mail - it weighted just a little light). The scale will weigh up to a pound, demarcated in ounces; up to 450 grams, demarcated by 10 grams.
The base has a really small footprint and you can store the bowl part in with your cereal bowls to get it out of the way until you need it.
One really nice feature is that it has an adjustment screw, so you can set 0 by hand to compensate for using the bowl or weighing something without it.
Warmest congratulations on your diet and exercise program. I know how hard it can be to start it and, even more, stick with it. I think you're super-impressive.

I got this one and it works great and is very portable. I'm lifting weights so I gotta be pretty precise right now about making sure I get enough calories. I think I got it at Fred Meyer, but I'm not sure.
Just in case the link doesn't work it's a Polder Digital Scale model 932
