I know with IBS we are more prone to migraines (great) and I have been suffering for quite some time. What do any of you with migraines take to get you relief??? HELP!

so sorry you are suffering with migraines - I take Maxalt for mine. I had one yesterday...took one (5 mg I think) and it took it right away.

it works MOST of the time... sometimes I just need to live with them... especially since my insurance will only cover 3 pills a month... thankfully as long as I avoid MSG... I don't get any.

I have suffered from migraines over the past 15 years and have taken a variety of medications. If I feel one coming on, I try to knock it down with Excedrin Migraine which typically works. If it is past that point, I typically take Imitrix tablets which helps. Otherwise I wind up in the ER dehydrated and miserable. Fortunately I have only had one migraine attack since being diagnosed with IBS. The Imitrix handled it and I got lucky that there was no need to visit the ER again. Hope that helps.

But I thought for years that it didm't work for me as I have to wait till I'm nauseous to take it. Apparently it should work for ALL migraines, but everyone's point at which it works varies.
I also take Paracetamol (Tylenol) and Codeine to knock the pain down enough to let me go to sleep.
