Since not drinking water during meals and putting beano liquid drops in my first bite of food at each meal. Hope I don't jinx myself but I have noticed a huge difference.

What do you drink during meals then?
Do you find the drops work better then the Beano in pill form?
I always have gas....just looking for new ideas!

I think I read numerous times on this board that drinking while eating isn't good. Someone explained it in detail- I can't remember who though. I do it sometimes though. Nature of the beast.

Yeah, I've heard the don't drink while eating thing before, I forget the exact reason, something about it slows down the digestion of the food or something. I'm sure it can help some poeple but it didn't make much of a difference for me. The Beano does help with know gas-producing foods, like beans. I also take LOTS of gas-x. Typically between 4-6 gas-x a day. It doesn't really reduce the amount of gas you have, it just makes it less painful. It helps to break up the gas bubbles inside so it seems to help a bit with bloating and tummy rumbles. Glad you found something that is helping you!!!

OH! Okay, I was confused. I thought she meant not drinking "water" in general while eating, like she was drinking someone else. So she (and you) mean not drinking anything while eating....Correct? Thats interesting, I'm going to try that b/c I'm very gassy, and always drink A LOT while eating. Thanks for the clarification!

I'm keenly interested. I find that the Beano or digestive enzymes really decrease gassiness for me too. I also find that when I drink only a little water with meals, gassiness is decreased as well. However, I find that Beano, etc. does not help with things high in sulfur, i.e. cruciferous anything or garlic, onions. Maybe it only assists with non-sulferous foods. I think I might name my next cat BEANO. I'm happy you're less gassy, because well, I know what it's like. What kind of foods are you using the beano in synchronicity with? Just curious.

I've not heard that before but as I mentioned the gas-x helps break up the gas bubbles so maybe it just seems like you are passing more gas? My dr is actually the one who recommended that I take it. Everyones IBS is different and is affected by different things so maybe your body just doesn't like the gas-x?
