Has anyone heard of or used Lactobacillus acidophilus? It is a digestive enzyme. I am wondering about the side effects, if any and how effective it is. I'm just going to start taking them as per doctor's orders. I've read an article about its uses and it claims to help control inflammatory bowel disease, lactose intolerance, etc. My doctor thinks everyone should take this enzyme regardless of their digestive health.

Lorna,
I just started taking this in liquid form and I notice no ill side effects. Make sure you are getting the "live" form of this...it's kept refrigerated in the stores where purchased.
Since the kind I bought is not flavored, I mix it in w/ my smoothies or yogurt. Otherwise, it has a bitter taste.
And when I started, I was taking less than the recommended dosage.
Good luck,
sue
