Most whole grains are insoluble fiber and are therefore a trigger food. They're important to eat for health reasons, but they have to be handled with care - eaten with lots of SF and usually only in small quantities.

You can read about whole grains and how to handle them in either of Heather's books or here on this Website .

We're all a little different in how much we can handle of the trigger foods, but I wouldn't eat a whole grain cereal and I particularly wouldn't eat it first thing in the morning when my stomach is empty. If your tummy is starting to give you trouble, your cereal might well be the cause. Try eating something more SF for breakfast for a while and see if your tummy feels better.

i usually bake my own bread... at the hannaford super markets in albany i found this bread - it only has water, salt, yeast, and unbleached flour. THE ONLY loaf ive ever seen in stores (usually u can just get safe bagguettes which is hard to make a sandwhich with) the brand is heidelberg baking company. they use no fat or preservatives, im sure it goes bad fast so i keep it in the freezer... its seriously the only loaf of bread i have ever found with all good ingredients.

as far as the yogurt i have tried a lot and the only one i like is whole soy. but i recently found out they use cornstarch and im allergic to all forms of corn. i kept getting sick after i ate it so i tried to eat only half the container and still got sick, then i looked at the label, im shocked i miss the cornstarch bc i wont buy anything until i triple check whats in it.

like we're supposed to be able to incorporate whole grains in our diet as long as there is a soluable fiber base (like white flour) but every time i try something whole grains (like oatmeal or rye or whole wheat) i get sick. the only thing i can tolerate is topping my blueberry muffins and banana bread with oatmeal right before i put them in the oven, its a way to still get the oatmeal taste without the stomache ache.
