Got some good suggestions about controling my gas with fennel tea. Problem is I can't stand the taste of it! (don't like anything licorice). Is there another way of taking fennel and getting the same effect? Does it come in some kind of tablet form? I love peppermint tea but it doesn't seem to have an affect on my gas. Thanks for the advice! Great site!!!! :-)

I hate the taste too, but mix my tea with lavender and chamomile and that's nice. If you can have peppermint tea (I can't), mix it with that.
Or Heather's peppermint caps actually contain fennel and ginger too! I haven't seen plain fennel caps, but you could ask at your HFS.

I believe this is the second time I've run across a post from you saying you mix your fennel with lavender and chamomile. I've never seen lavender to make tea. Can you just buy it in teabags, like chamomile?

I get bags of dried flowers from near my parents-in-law's house in Provence. You can get them all over the place but some of them I really wouldn't want to drink!
I've never seen it in teabags, which is surprising as laender is great for relaxation - especially when brewed with chamomile as I do (plus fennel).

check out www.missronaslavender.com. I know they have some lavender teas etc. Not sure if they just have "plain" lavender tho. It is Rona Barrett's site.

I've gotten fennel capsules from my HFS. They're made by a company called Solaray & they have 450 mg per capsule. They seem to help me. Meryl

What a great site. You could brew a lavender teabag with the fennel seeds and/or with a chamomile tea bag! And lavender applesauce...mmmm.

Thanks. The site is gorgeous - I can almost smell the lavender. I didn't see any plain lavender tea, but the combos look interesting. I can't tell from the descriptions whether they're caffeine free, though.
When I was poking around, I found 3 Websites that will just sell the lavender loose:
http://www.teaspring.com/Lavender.asp
http://www.englishteastore.com/1mt-lav.html
http://lavendercreek.store.yahoo.com/index.html
I'm going to check my local health food store and if they don't carry lavender, I'll try one of these and let you know how it works out.
