Hello! My name is Agi. I have been posting on the Crohn's site recently because it was suspected that I might have it. The specialist yesterday said it was definitely IBS. I also have Fibromyalgia and about forty pounds too much weight! I could use some suggestions on how to lose the forty pounds. The Fibro and the IBS sure aren't going anywhere. I had been eating too often in an attempt to control the excess acid in my sytem since my gallbladder was removed years ago, but now the specialist has put me back on Questran to control the excess acid so the weight's gotta go!
I am asking you for suggestions as you all know the challenges people with IBS face. I, like many others with IBS, have a lactose problem and certain foods will aggravate my Fibro. The foods we eat to calm the IBS are the very foods you are supposed to avoid for weight loss. HELP PLEASE!!!!

You have to get over the concept that carbs are fattening...it's only if you eat too much and that's true of anything! They're the same amount of calories per gram as protein.
With IBS AND Fibro, I think it's easiest to lose weight when your diet is keeping you healthy. If I'm having a bad time with my diet, I tend to eat more junk, making me ill and I put on weight!
