Hi!! I am taking it and love it. I have never felt better. I am not sure how long one should be on it. I will ask my nurse practitioner tomorrow when I see her. She is the one who put me on it. Is it working for you? I am now having BM's every day and sometimes twice or three times a day. That is very unusal for me I could go days without it. Let me know if you need anything else.

I have been taking zelnorm for about 6 months, but everything I've read about it says it is supposed to be taken short term, I get nervous about taking such a new thing for a long time. I stopped taking it a couple days ago to see if I can go without it and I just increased my citrucel intake. I am also trying really, really hard to eat right.

I have also been taking zelnorm since October - also take bentyl..I go to Yale University - I asked them about this since the directions say take 4-6 weeks with maybe a second round. My docs say they don't have long term testing results...and they don't seem to be worried about it..so, neither do I. I know..that really isn't an answer...I go back in two months for my check-up - I will keep you posted. I guess we are in the same boat! Feel good:-)

I saw my nurse practitoner today and she said that it is for only about 12 weeks but can be taken longer if needed. She also said that Zelnorm is supposed to help correct the problem with your colon and hope that this doesn't happen again. I am hoping that it does help long term.

I've been on Zelnorm for 2 years straight now. I have checked with several drs. and they all say it's safe to use long term.
