When it comes to tea, I know that caffeine is bad, and herbal is good. What about tea that falls in between, like Yerba Mate? It has mateine, not caffeine, in it, and might be a good way to get an energy boost without the spikes and drops (and gastro-intestinal woes) of caffeine. Does anyone have any experience with this? I've had it in the past with seemingly no problems (and many perks), but since I haven't tracked my IBS difficulties very carefully, it's hard for me to tell if different parts of my diet are safe or not. Thanks!

...but I drink alot of Rooibos which has a pick-me-up effect with no horrible stimulants.

I seem to remember this coming up on the boards a while back... a conversation between Heather and a truck driver who was looking for something to keep him up at night, I think. I *believe* that Heather suggested yerba mate! Not sure though, try doing a search! I know I've had it once before and I don't remember having any problems with it. Definitely try a search though!
